Frequently asked questions

The questions I get asked most. If yours is not here, write to me — I answer everyone.

What is my French level?

The group classes cover levels A1 to B2. If you are not sure where you stand, we discuss it on a short video call before your first class — there is no written test to sit.

I do not speak a word of French. Can I still start?

Yes. You can start with no French at all — that is exactly what the A1 level is for.

How many people are in a group?

Between 3 and 8, grouped by level. Small enough that you speak in every class, which is rather the point.

Where are the in-person classes held?

At La Maison des Associations, 6 Cours des Alliés, 35000 Rennes.

What is the schedule?

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 17:30–19:00 and 19:15–20:45. Each slot corresponds to a level.

How long is a class?

One and a half hours.

How much does it cost?

Groups in Rennes: €440 for 3 months (12 sessions) or €810 for 6 months (24 sessions). Private online lessons: €575 for 10 sessions (15h) or €840 for 20 sessions (30h).

How do I pay?

By bank transfer, by card, and in instalments if you prefer.

Is the first lesson really free?

Yes. The first trial lesson is free with no commitment: no card details, no sign-up first.

What is the difference between group and online lessons?

Group classes are in person in Rennes, with 3 to 8 people at your level. Online lessons are one-to-one, so the pace and the content adapt entirely to you.

Do you prepare students for the DELF and DALF exams?

Yes, as part of the private online lessons.

I do not live in Rennes. Can I still take lessons?

Yes — the one-to-one online lessons work from anywhere. They are often used to prepare for a move to France before arriving.

What happens if I miss a class?

A cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the class, as set out in the contract signed before the first lesson. After that, the session is lost.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

You have 14 days after signing the contract to withdraw. After that, booked sessions are not refunded.

Is Marion qualified?

Yes: Marion holds the DAEFLE, the French diploma for teaching French as a foreign language, obtained through the Alliance Française.

What languages does Marion speak?

French, English, Spanish and Catalan — useful when you are starting out and sometimes need another language to bridge the gap.

How do I sign up?

Through the contact form, by email at marion.westfrench@gmail.com, or on WhatsApp. We arrange your free trial lesson together.
